2025 GLTC – SOUTH CAROLINA Recap: PanicSquad Racing’s First Race

    Date: April 11-13, 2025

Track: CAROLINA MOTORSPORTS PARK (CMP), KERSHAW, SC

The GLTC South Carolina event was PanicSquad Racing’s first official 2025 outing — no experience to fall back on, no idea where we’d stack up, and nothing but the thrill of finally being on track to figure it out. We weren’t just here to watch… we were here to race! As the new kids on the block, the question hung in the air: “Could we keep up OR Would we just be learning how much more there is to go?”

Our first official Qualifying at CMP was all about learning. CMP’s long straights begged for speed, but the heavy braking zones kept us honest. A few wide lines and some traffic cost us time, but we locked in 26th on the grid — not the headline we wanted, but enough to put us in the fight.

The lights went out, and for a few laps it felt like we were finding our rhythm — until the car started talking back. First, the brakes where not as strong as we’d like. Then, the spark plugs decided they’d had enough. From there, it was a survival mission. We kept the wheels turning, limped it home 30th, and chalked it up to experience.

We launched with something to prove, pushing harder in the opening laps — then chaos. The hood broke loose, snapped back, and shattered the windshield. No vision, no chance. The weekend ended in the pits, gutted but not beaten. The day ended early, but fellow racers dropped by with words that hit harder than horsepower: “It happens to all of us.” That’s racing.
